Short answer: professional holiday and event lighting runs $10 to $15 per linear foot, installed, on our price list. If you are a returning client and we stored your lights, re-installing them each season runs $350 to $1,500. Large whole-home displays cost more, because they have more feet to light and more height to work at.
How to estimate your own price in five minutes
- Measure what you want lit. Rooflines, gutter edges, porch railings, walkway edges. Add up the feet.
- Multiply by $10 to $15. Simple straight runs sit at the low end. Steep roofs, tall walls and complicated corners push toward the high end.
- Add the extras. Wrapping trees and shrubs, wreaths and similar details are priced on top of the per-foot rate.
Example: 150 ft × $10 = $1,500, and 150 ft × $15 = $2,250. So a 150-foot roofline lands between $1,500 and $2,250.
That gives you a number to hold a quote up against. The real price comes from walking your property, which is why we offer a free estimate.
What “installed” should include
- Lights and clips hung cleanly, with no staples and no damage to gutters or shingles.
- Timers, so the display switches itself on and off.
- Takedown after the season.
- For returning clients, we reinstall your stored lighting each season at the re-install price, not the full first-year price.
If a quote does not say who takes the lights down, ask. That is the most common surprise on a holiday lighting bill.
New install or re-install?
The first year costs the most because everything is new to your house. After that, a returning client pays the re-install price of $350 to $1,500 for the same lights, depending on the size of the display. You can see how the job works on our holiday lighting page.
DIY or hire out?
DIY is cheaper on paper, and a single-story ranch with a short roofline is a fair weekend project. The real costs are ladder work on a tall house, bulbs that fail mid-season, and a December weekend you do not get back. Hiring out mostly makes sense for two-story homes, steep roofs, and anyone who wants the same clean display every year without redoing it.
When to book
Installs happen between Thanksgiving and early December, and the calendar fills from the earliest dates first. Booking in October gets you the date you want, not whatever is left.
When to call us
Call when you have measured the roofline and want a firm number, when you have lights in storage from a previous install and want them back up, or when you would rather not climb a ladder in November. We serve North Atlanta and the Gwinnett towns to the northeast, and the estimate is free.
What can push the price up
Height is the big one. A two-story wall takes more time and more safety gear than a ranch roofline. Complicated rooflines with many corners, dormers and peaks add feet and add time. Wrapping trees and shrubs is detail work, which is why it is priced separately from the roofline. None of these are hidden fees. We walk the property, tell you what is driving the number and give you one firm price before the first ladder goes up.
